Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is my RV covered under my homeowner's insurance policy?
No, typically your RV is not covered under a standard homeowner's insurance policy. RVs require a dedicated insurance policy that considers their unique risks and usage, including being used as primary residences in some cases.
Does my homeowner's insurance policy cover my personal belongings in my RV?
Homeowner's insurance generally offers minimal coverage for personal belongings in your RV. A specialized RV insurance policy will provide comprehensive protection against theft, damage, and liabilities, ensuring your personal items are fully covered.
Is high-quality RV insurance expensive?
RV insurance can be surprisingly affordable, especially when compared to the potential costs of uninsured damage or liability. The peace of mind from knowing you're protected is often worth the relatively small premium. Contact us for a quote tailored to your needs.
What types of physical damage coverage are available?
RV insurance offers actual cash value and agreed value coverage. Actual cash value takes into account the age and condition of the vehicle, while agreed value coverage protects the insured value without depreciation concerns.
What does emergency expense coverage include?
If your RV becomes inoperable more than 50 miles from home due to a covered loss, emergency expense coverage provides for temporary living facilities, transportation back home, and the cost of returning the RV if it's not declared a total loss.
What is full-timer RV insurance?
Full-timer RV insurance is for those who live in their RV full-time as their primary residence. It includes coverage for personal liability, medical payments, loss assessment, and more, ensuring you have comprehensive protection similar to a homeowner's policy.
Does RV insurance cover medical expenses?
Yes, medical RV insurance covers injury to individuals riding in the vehicle, regardless of who caused the accident. It can also help with funeral costs and other related expenses.
What is uninsured motorist coverage?
Uninsured motorist coverage protects you if you're in an accident with a driver who lacks sufficient insurance. It helps pay for damages when the at-fault driver doesn't have adequate coverage.
What is Personal Injury Protection (PIP) RV insurance coverage?
PIP provides benefits regardless of fault in an accident, covering medical expenses and lost wages. It is often mandatory and covers the policyholder, their family members, passengers, and pedestrians involved in an accident.
What does roadside assistance include?
Roadside assistance offers services such as towing, flat tire changes, battery jump-starts, fuel delivery, and lock-out assistance, ensuring you're covered in emergencies while on the road.
